DOT/FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse Administration

Employers of CDL drivers are required to register with the FMCSA Drug And Alcohol Clearinghouse.   Effective January 6, 2020, the Clearinghouse contains records of CDL drug and alcohol violations that prohibit an employee from performing CDL duties. Employers face a fine 0f $5,800 per violation per driver if the company fails to participate. Employers must query the Clearinghouse database for new hire CDL employees and current CDL employees at least annually.  New hires must register with the clearinghouse and provide electronic consent and all other employees must provide written consent.

As a C/TPA, ADAD can administer and provide Clearinghouse services for employers and owner-operators.  We can assist with employer registration process, update your company policy to include the required Clearinghouse language, provide consent forms for employees, and assist with employee registration.
